Terms and conditions for the Change&Fly Option

In exchange for payment, Air France offers you the possibility of booking the Change&Fly Option, which allows Light or Basic fare passengers on short and medium haul to change their booking once up until 14 days before departure, with the payment of fare difference when applicable.

In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms and expressions shall be defined as follows –

 “Air France”: Société Air France, a public limited company under French law, with its registered head office at 45, rue de Paris, F-95747 Roissy CDG Cedex, France, and recorded in the Bobigny Trades and Company Register under number 420 495 178.

 "Air France Short- and Medium-haul flight" is a Medium-haul or Short-haul flight, with an Air France flight number, that allows the purchase of the Change&Fly Option.

 “Medium-haul flight”: a flight with an AF flight number to and from Europe, between Europe and North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia), Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, flights within the Carribean (Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Point-à-Pitre), as well as Miami-Montréal and Cayenne-Belem flight.

 “Short-haul flight”: a flight with an AF flight number in Metropolitan France.

 “Client”: is any individual person of legal age holding an electronic ticket on a flight operated by Air France and wishing to purchase a Change&Fly option.

 "Fare Difference" is the amount to be paid to Air France-KLM, when Change&Fly Option is used to make a change and the current booking class is not available anymore.

 "Flight Change" is a change in timing, date or destination of the flight, operated by Air France and/or KLM. A flight change can be made on both the departing and/or return flight.

  "General Conditions of Sale" or "Conditions" or "Present" are the present Terms and Conditions defining the conditions of sale of Change&Fly.

 "Option": means the opportunity for the Client to purchase a Change&Fly Option under the conditions set forth herein, and subject to availability. Clients may purchase Change&Fly Option solely during the booking process and can only be purchased for all segments.

“Terms and Conditions” or “Terms and Conditions herein”: the present conditions defining the terms and conditions of sale of Change&Fly.

 “Websites”: the Air France Websites, accessible via www.airfrance.com and/or mobile app.

Clients who purchase the Change&Fly Option receive the following benefit: the possibility to make one (1) change in their booking up to 14 days before departure. This option can be used from the moment of purchase and up to 14 days before the departure of the first flight of their itinerary. Timing, date and destination can be changed for departing and return flights, as long as the change is made at one moment in time. When applicable, a Fare Difference must be paid by the passenger.

3.1 - A Client may purchase a Change&Fly Option on Short and Medium-Haul flights depending on product availability: online (website or mobile application), during the booking process 

3.2 – A Client may purchase a Change&Fly Option up to 14 days before the departure of the first flight of their itinerary. The latest day to purchase a Change&Fly Option is dependent on the itinerary and fare.  

3.3 – A Client can use the Change&Fly Option until 14 days before the first flight of their itinerary. The latest day of usage is mentioned during the purchase of the Option, in the booking confirmation email. And after the purchase, the Client can find the latest day of usage in My Bookings under the product detail conditions. 

3.4 – The Change&Fly Option enables a Client to change their ticket one time. A change in the reservation means a voluntary change of date, flight, booking class, fare, cabin (change of cabin / Upgrade to a higher cabin), but also a voluntary downgrade. When applicable, a Fare Difference will have to be paid to change the ticket. 

4.1 – Payment for a Change&Fly Option can be made using the payment cards accepted on the official Air France websites and mobile application. 

 

5-A Change Conditions  

5.1 - Air France agrees to make every effort to respect the change of flight that will take place following the purchase of the Change&Fly Option and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Client is hereby informed that Air France may be forced, for operational reasons related to safety and/or security requirements, to modify the possibility of using the Change&Fly Option. In this case, Air France shall not be held liable and the Client who was unable to benefit from the Change&Fly purchased in accordance with the conditions set forth herein shall be reimbursed the price of the Change&Fly Option in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in Article 6 "Refund conditions" below.  

5.2 – The Change&Fly Option is personal, non-changeable and non-transferable.  

5.3 - The Change&Fly Option is associated with an Air France ticket flight number and must be used latest on the date that was communicated during the booking process and in the email confirmation. The Client can also retrieve the product conditions in My Bookings, where the latest date of usage can be found as well.   

5.4 – In case of an involuntary change, the Change&Fly Option will be transferred accordingly.    

5.5 - Clients who purchase the Change&Fly may only do so on their own behalf or on behalf of a person who has duly authorized them to purchase the Change&Fly Option on their behalf and for their account, hereinafter referred to as the "Authorizing Passenger". In the latter case, the Authorizing Passenger is understood to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. 

 

5-B – Refund conditions 

The Client who has purchased the Change&Fly Option will be entitled to a refund of the price of the Change&Fly Option in the following circumstances: 

The itinerary for which the Change&Fly Option was purchased is canceled and the Client cannot to travel and wants a refund of the itinerary. 

The Client may request a refund of the Change&Fly Option by filling out an online claim accessible via the "Contact Us" section of our website. 

Air France shall not be held liable and shall not be deemed to have breached its obligations in the event of non-provision of all or part of its services defined in the Terms and Conditions herein if such failure is due to force majeure, as defined or interpreted by the applicable country law. In this case, the Customer shall not be entitled to claim any compensation, damages, or interest for any direct or indirect damage suffered as a result of the failure to provide the services.

Any claim concerning the reservation, payment and/or provision of this Option shall be addressed to Air France via the online claim form accessible via the “Refunds, complains & suggestions” link in the “Contact us” section on the Website.

Air France reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions at any time. The purchase of this Option will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of Sale in effect at the time of booking unless a change to these Terms and Conditions of Sale is required by law or governmental authority (in which case the change will also apply to all orders that have already been placed).
